About Audrey

My Story

I grew up in rural Ontario in Canada. My parents had immigrated from Holland bringing with them their knowledge and passion for growing their own food.

I played at my mother's feet while she worked in the fields, later joining her and my siblings as we cultivated the earth by seeding, planting, growing and picking our harvest. I spent my summers barefoot in the fields, outside under the sun, and on weekends selling what we grew at the local famers' markets. I knew where my food came from and was taught to respect the land. When I left my home town for college, I packed equal parts clothing, furniture and the food I had grown and preserved that last summer I spent at home.

I stumbled across holistic nutrition quite by accident when I went looking for a job to supplement my music career. Because it was an instant fit for me, I decided to pursue nutrition as a career. I loved that I could be of help to others as well. It has proved invaluable to my health and the health of my clients. The health and wellness field can be very confusing. I am proud of the programs I developed. These programs have given me lifelong benefits. It is so gratifying knowing that I do the same for my clients everyday.

In 2014, I stepped out of my old style of counseling to work with a new approach to nutrition through coaching. Embracing my love of cooking, I began to add new foods into my client's diet instead of just cutting foods out.  Making my clients a part of their own healing process made much more sense to me. The person I turned to for help with this transition was Meghan Telpner and it was through her Academy of Culinary Nutrition that I owe my new philosophy of better health through the abundance in nature. I believe food does matter. I now write, blog and create new recipes to show that abundance.

My Seven Basic Principles of Health:

1. Reduce toxic exposure.
2. Eat the colors of the rainbow.
3. Eat local and organic.
3. Eliminate processed foods.
4. Manage your stress.
5. Drink water.
6. Sleep soundly.
7. Live your passion.
